Defining the position

We develop a position specification covering the role, reporting relationships, experience, responsibilities and compensation.

Typical timing: Weeks 1 to 2

Using what we learn in discovery, we draft a detailed position specification for your review and approval. It covers the title and reporting relationships, core responsibilities, the experience and education the role requires, the leadership qualities that matter most in your culture, and the compensation range.

The specification does two jobs. It gives your team a clear, agreed standard to evaluate every candidate against, and it becomes the document we use to introduce the opportunity to prospective candidates, so it is written to be compelling as well as accurate.

Where the market for the role has shifted, we share what we are seeing on compensation, title and candidate expectations so the specification reflects what it will take to attract the leader you want.
