Reffett Associates Assists the Air Force Research Laboratory with Placement of Senior Scientist for High Fidelity Weapons Modeling and Simulation
Dr. Craig M. Ewing was named Senior Scientist in AFRL's Munitions Directorate at Eglin Air Force Base.
Following a nationwide search, Reffett Associates assisted the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) in placing Dr. Craig M. Ewing as the Senior Scientist for High Fidelity Weapons Modeling and Simulation in the Munitions Directorate at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. The search was led by Dr. Eric Reffett, Managing Director of the firm's Washington, DC office, with assistance from Marshall Reffett, Managing Director in the firm's Seattle office.
Dr. Ewing will serve as the principal scientific authority for the research, development and implementation of multi-physics, high-fidelity modeling and simulation capability, and its integration into campaign-level simulations to meet future Air Force weapons and warfighter needs. He will advance weapons modeling and simulation technology to improve the Air Force's conventional air-launched munitions capabilities, and will serve as authoritative scientific counsel to AFRL senior management.
Dr. Ewing has previously served in several roles within AFRL. Most recently, as Core Technical Competency lead, he supported 115 engineers and technicians with leadership, strategic planning and technical support across all levels of modeling, simulation and analysis, from high-fidelity physics-based capabilities to wargaming-level simulations. He holds a PhD and MS in Engineering from the University of Florida and completed his undergraduate studies in Aerospace and Astronautical Engineering at Ohio State University.
